At OTTO FUCHS, we address environmental, social, and economic issues throughout our business operations. In our VSME sustainability reports, we provide information on selected measures, developments, and key performance indicators, thereby ensuring transparency regarding our activities in these areas. In addition, sustainability ratings for our Meinerzhagen site offer insights into selected sustainability topics and performance metrics.

Inspired by the words of our founder, Hans Joachim Fuchs, we see it as our mission to go beyond merely meeting minimum requirements—not only in economic, environmental, and social terms. We want to actively shape sustainable systems that reflect our deep respect for workplace safety, the environment, and human interaction. Our conviction that tomorrow’s world is the result of our actions today motivates us to constantly question traditional processes and explore innovative paths. We view digital transformation and automation as opportunities to continuously improve our company and our products.

Making engagement visible: Sustainability reports
The publication of our sustainability reports serves not only to document our efforts and achievements in the area of sustainability, but also as an invitation to engage with us. Since the 2024 reporting year, we have been preparing our sustainability reports in accordance with the VSME standard as a structured and transparent foundation for our sustainability reporting. They provide an overview of our strategies and goals, thereby fostering open dialogue with all stakeholders. This transparency is important to us in order to build trust and work together with partners, customers, and the public toward a more sustainable future.
Living sustainability: Responsibility for employees and community
For OTTO FUCHS, sustainability is a comprehensive concept that goes far beyond the ecological aspect and is deeply embedded in the company's strategy. In 2022, we were recognized as a family-friendly company and recertified for another three years. Various initiatives, such as new exchange and communication formats, complement our commitment to employee health and well-being.
Focus on employees
Our company philosophy is based on the belief that motivated and satisfied employees are the key to innovation and competitiveness. We place great importance on training and development to foster a motivating work environment and offer long-term career prospects to expand expertise and retain employees in the long run.
Responsible resource use
The careful and efficient use of resources is at the heart of everything we do. At our sites, we are constantly working to minimize potential impacts on air, water, and soil; promote biodiversity; and keep waste and environmental pollution to a minimum through a circular economy.

At OTTO FUCHS, we are constantly addressing sustainability issues. Our EcoVadis rating and the ASI certification of our Meinerzhagen facility provide transparency and accountability regarding selected activities and requirements in this area.
ALUMINUM STEWARDSHIP INITIATIVE (ASI)
With ASI certification, we adhere to internationally recognized standards for a responsible aluminum value chain. The Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) takes environmental, social, and corporate criteria into account. Compliance with these requirements is verified through independent audits.
OTTO FUCHS KG holds certifications under the ASI Performance Standard as well as, for a defined area, under the ASI Chain of Custody Standard. In this way, we promote transparency and support the responsible production and procurement of aluminum.
ECOVADIS SUSTAINABILITY RATING
EcoVadis evaluates our performance in the areas of the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Our Bronze Medal reflects our relative performance level compared to others in the industry. The results can be found on our EcoVadis Recognition page.
CDP DISCLOSURE
OTTO FUCHS participates in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and, as part of this initiative, discloses information on how it addresses environmental and climate issues. We achieved a B score (management level) in the Climate Change category.
