Energy and the environment: ecological awareness – responsibility for the future
As a leading player in the non-ferrous metal industry, we are a member of the environmental initiatives “Metalle pro Klima” and "Stiftung 2°". These corporate associations aim to cluster their efforts and potential in the battle against climate change and put them to active use.

OTTO FUCHS KG is guided in all it does by the principle of sustainability. Environmentally aware and careful use of resources provides the basis for our environmental management. The aim here is to minimise any environmental pollution arising from production, trade and distribution processes.

Environmental management

Environment-oriented management forms part of our corporate policy. As far as we are concerned, there is no contradiction between economy and ecology. We strive to minimise energy consumption, emissions, waste water, waste volume, operating materials and consumables and we aim to use environmentally compatible production processes and materials that are both ecologically and economically sound. The effectiveness of our environmental policy and our environmental management system is regularly inspected and confirmed by means of certification according to ISO 14001.

Energy management

Being certified according to DIN EN ISO 50001:2011, we undertake to improve energy efficiency consistently and verifiably. The uppermost goal here is to reduce specific energy consumption and CO2 emissions, for example based on the economical use of new technologies.

Health and safety management
