Titanium
Titanium alloys
Four decades ago, OTTO FUCHS developed a special forging technology for titanium. This includes CNC-controlled hydraulic, hand- and die forging presses allowing reproducible processes, centrally monitored heating and heat treatment units as well as special “hot die and “near-net-shape forging technology.
Our titanium alloys have a number of outstanding properties:
- low density
- high static and dynamic strength
- high corrosion resistance
- good high temperature strength
- high toughness
For these reasons, titanium alloys are especially suitable for applications with extraordinary requirements:
- Aircraft: Highly-stressed components in the wings, the landing gear and in wheel and engine suspension
- Aircraft engines: Compressor impellers and disks with optimised strength, creep and fatigue characteristics
- General engineering: Compressors, turbo engines, flanges, valves with high strength and good corrosion resistance
- Engines: Low-weight, high-strength conrods, valves with high temperature strength, turbochargers
OTTO FUCHS offers full service, from materials and alloy selection to process capable designs of forged components. Pre-machining and targeting is supplied according to customer requirements.
